Akari Kyoto Gion Hotel

The location offers easy access to all the historic sites in the area, awesome for enjoyable walks to restaurants and temples. The staff were friendly and even allowed for the hire of a facial steamer. The room was clean and spacious. I particularly enjoyed the fresh fruit juice served at breakfast.

Thanks very much for the warm welcome, you're dope! Quaint place overall, it is impeccably clean, location is perfect in a delightful neighborhood. The breakfast is very good and rather basic, with options for non-Asian travellers. The hotel staff is ATTENTIVE and highly courteous.

It was practical, spotless and with nice decor.

The room was spotlessly clean and peaceful, with a comfy bed and great shower. Plus, it had a kettle and a fridge, super handy. The view over the rooftops was nice too-it felt cozy. I felt really at home, safe and happy as a solo female traveler.

Impeccably clean hotel, and the staff were very helpful and extremely helpful, location was beautiful by public transport. Location: the venue was short walk to the main streets of Gion and temples and shrines as well as restaurants, shopping and nice walking path along the river and the shopping district. Otafuku was a restaurant with a quiet atmosphere, set 300 feet away;)))

Great restaurant recommendations!

Our family stayed in the Standard Twin Room and loved it! The room was spacious, very clean, and beautifully decorated in traditional Japanese style. The kids particularly enjoyed the high-tech toilet and the convenience of having a fridge. Plus, the staff was super friendly. The location in Gion is perfect for exploring the amazing temples and shrines nearby.

It was a bit far from Kyoto station.

The location is perfect for families, being just a short stroll to Ponto-cho where we enjoyed tasty dinners. The room was spacious and clean, with thoughtful amenities for the kids. The staff provided excellent recommendations for nearby attractions.

Inn gion the second is in a fantastic spot, right in the gion area. The room was spacious and lovely. I loved how quiet it was. The front desk had many helpful amenities, too!

This was just a smart choice for a cursory stop in Kyoto with definitely value for money. The room got a bit hot after showers, but we used towels for the water on the floor, which worked fine. Just be aware there's no laundry facility available.

fantastic spot near gion's sights and beautiful parks

Staying in this charming hotel made my city strolls so enjoyable, as it's just a short walk to the fine Maruyama Park and the historic Kiyomizu-dera Temple, allowing me to immerse myself in Kyoto's culture and natural beauty. The friendly staff and the clean, spacious rooms enhanced my experience.

The location in Gion is excellent for exploring nearby temples and shrines. The room was spacious and beautifully decorated. The breakfast options were limited and the hotel can be tricky to find, especially at night. Clear directions would be helpful.

Staying at Inn Gion The Second was good. The location in Gion allowed for serene nighttime strolls, and the staff's assistance was really good when I needed help retrieving lost belongings. The room, quite spacious and clean, provided a cozy retreat. Lacking a dining option was a minor drawback.

We had a wonderful stay with super cozy fresh pajamas and a powerful shower that was a delight after exploring. The massage chair in the lobby was a great way to unwind after long days of sightseeing. The tea selection in our room was a nice touch. Just a heads up, we noticed a few stray bits of trash on the floor left behind, but overall, it was a fantastic experience 😊
